Google, Woody Endorse Homosexuality in New Ad

Google recently released an advertisement for their browser Chrome which promotes the “It Gets Better” project. The project encourages young people who struggle with homosexuality that it will eventually get better. The ad involves celebrities, including Woody from Toy Story. Here is the ad in its entirety:

It breaks my heart that any young person is being bullied and teased and abused, but that does not make homosexuality right or moral. In light of such an advertisement, I believe that we as Christians need to address a number of issues:

First, we must take a strong stand on Truth. The homosexual agenda has been being pushed for a long time and has portrayed as a trait they are born with. I have no doubt that there are people who are born with a propensity to certain behaviors, but that does not make the behavior right nor does it make that person less responsible for their actions. What people choose to do with their bodies is a choice and cannot be compared to skin color, ethnic background, or anything of the like.

Second, we must address the way we interact and deal with those who struggle with homosexuality. People are never to be bullied or abused. That, too, is sin. The dividing line in Christianity is lost and saved, not gay and straight. We must denounce the abusive behavior without licensing the sin. To the homosexual community, I am sorry that people who are uncomfortable with your choices turn to verbal or physical abuse, but we as Christians cannot support or condone you behavior without abandoning the core values of our faith. That being said we must not respond in anger, but with patience. Remember we war not with flesh and blood.

Third, Google does a phenomenal job of making web tools, but that does not make them experts on social or moral issues. The world does a much better job of getting their message out than we do. We must start taking seriously getting out the message of the Gospel and the freedom from sin that Jesus Christ offers. Let’s use the tools that internet provides to spread Truth in love. Let’s get serious about sharing the Word of God.

Finally, we have to be aware that from every angle the enemy is trying to get at the hearts and minds of our children (and ours as well). We need not run, but we must teach our children to resist and steel their minds against the lies they are being fed. The lies are now in our homes and we must be aware and we must be careful to have walls built up around our hearts and homes. Remember we do have Truth on our side.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
