2011 Class #1: God is Creator, Therefore Master
We had our first actual Bible class of the year yesterday. We took a look at God as the Creator of all. It is a sobering Truth that as the Designer, He know exactly how everything works and gets to set the rules. I still struggle with that part of it. His role as Creator of the Universe should make Him Master of my choices. Too, often I fool myself into thinking I might actually know better than the One who put it all together.
Understanding that God gets to define right and wrong, wise and foolish, etc. is key to being able to understand Scripture. We must accept this basic Truth if we are going to be able to be true to what the Word says. We can often interpret Scripture in a way that fits are presuppositions and twist it to help us to feel more comfortable.
Lord, help staff and student alike grasp and live this truth.
